thats the worst thing about martinez... he is high risk - low reward... the big names would have to basically gift sergio his biggest payday, only for sergio to whoop their ass (he is too big for the dudes he is calling out)... i dont see any logical money fighter to take that risk.

i have no beef with cotto/margs II... i think the story is good, chance at redemption for both... good money... both at same faded level... new trainers... i think its a great fight.

I agree with Cotto!Martinez not only can't get him the payday as he wld be geting againsts the like of Margacheato but than again very few will! To me! Cotto is the best 154 pounder Champ we have the rest are paper champs! Martinez himself wants a big payday , but he's just too big, too skilled and his work ethic is pretty crazy! He's really humble, never talks **** and he does all these kinda sport to stay in shape! But only thing he has to do is change his manager and not take these damn fights against the likes of Barker! Cmon the only reason he's callin out guys smaller than him is for the payday, or else he wld and shld fight guys like Jr, Pirog or Sturm!

Cotto is only ranked #1 by name, not by what he has done at 154. Top it off, I don't think anyone currently has won more vacant belts than Cotto so you have no room to be calling other boxers "paper champs".

for the last few years, since the fight with Manny, Cotto has been carefully positioned to make as much $$$$ as possible while avoiding any of the big guns in the division -- this has been done because Cotto's people realize that he's a semi-shot fighter with eroding skills but with a large and passionate fan base -- they've been carefully selecting his most recent opponents mainly for their name recognition -- a weak punching Foreman and Mayorga, who hasn't had a significant win in almost 10 years -- now it's the rematch with a much devalued Margarito for big $$$$ -- I don't think Cotto will beat Margarito but even if he doesn't, he'll still be able to get big $$$ fights because he's well connected in the sport and has been a cash cow for a lot of people

Martinez is the definition of superior risks/low rewards but a name like his on your resume is gold.but expect more headaches as the world will fear you.If Top rank or GB promoted martinez they would blow him up as the next coming of god.

unlike Martinez, Cotto is willing to fight Margarito who beat both their asses. And Cotto just got done headlining a PPV that sold over 200k on the same night that Martinez fought drizurick and did horrible ratings.

The truth is that Cotto is a PPV fighter and Martinez has never sold a PPV in his life
