Boxing would have to implement year round random OSDT in order to catch cheats. Testing for 8 weeks up until the fight will not deter cheaters from doping and cycling the rest of the year.

he could start with fighting 3 times a year and not going into obscurity for 9 months where he "keeps in shape"

Ok. then do that. Floyd is a PED user. He cheats. Lets do whatever it takes to catch him. But be careful because if floyd has to test year round so does evryone. (HINT, HINT, WINK, WINK)

            Exactly, I totally agree.

Unfortunately, if we can't get a month and a half worth of testing out of some fighters, how do we expect to get a year?

We need testing mandated by the commisions. Once that's done, fighters will have no choice but to test. One fighter cant make up his own testing protocol.

I read the whole thread and I came into the conclusion that Mayweather fans are not boxing fans but delusional bumsniffers.

Deevel916, here's what you don't understand. The commission can't randomly blood test (out of competition/yearly) due to lack of funding. It has nothing to do with 1 fighter making rules.

If you noticed, not one time has the commission objected to random blood testing. In fact, NSAC advocates Mayweather's stance on testing. See below:

"However, recent media attention surrounding boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s insistence that Manny Pacquiao conform to more sensitive blood testing procedures before greenlighting their much-anticipated mega-fight has shone the light on testing protocol in all combat sports. The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board is the only U.S.-based commission to employ random blood testing for MMA and boxing, which it began in June 2007. However, other agencies are now exploring the testing as well. The Nevada State Athletic Commission has said it is considering it for both combat sports, possibly this year".

I just don't understand your point of "The commission".

fighting one fight a year and not getting tested year round is highly su****ious. then still win fights is doubly su****ious.

Victor Conte himself stated that he's more concerned with what a fighter is taking/doing the rest of the year and months prior to a bout rather than what a fighter might be taking weeks leading up to a fight.

If all boxers arent going to be randomly tested all year round, then there's always going to be ways to cheat regardless whether we follow the Mayweather testing protocol of testing only 8 weeks before a fight.
