    Full capacity is 15,000 seats and from where I sat there was maybe 2 empty seats, so its not bad. I and my friend was able to move down from our $150 nosebleed seats and take the two empty $1000 seats that the MGM usher said we could have. :-)

      Having fights, the major ones in Vegas is bad for boxing, not a near sellout though of said location

        And what city do you think could charge x amount of dollars to come close to a gate of 9 million? No city. There's a reason why the big fights go to Vegas.

        To TS, yes it's a good number. If fights were cheaper you could easily have sell outs and beyond but it is about attracting the most amount of money. Hence why you see 13,000 people drawing more people money wise than Mannys 55,000 paid for his Cowboy Stadium fights.

          Considering how people were complaining about the ticket cost here on NSB, It's a pretty damn good result.

          $9 million from tickets, with 13.000 tickets sold, that's roughly 692$ per ticket.
          A lot of moneeey!!!!

            The live gate is expense money , PPV is where the big money is .

                Considering that:
                1. Manny vs JMM is a virtual sold out 2 months before their fight (has raised almost $10M already) in Vegas
                2. Floyd is claiming he's the bigger draw and the venue is in Vegas, his home state,
                3. he fought a Mexican during a Mexican holiday, which considerably bumps up the numbers;
                4. Add further that Morales and Canelo are big Mexican names already, their fan bases are huge and should be considered as a big draw too.

                Considering all those expectations from Floyd, I should say that the number is definitely not good. It doesnt add up as if Floyd is a big draw (more appropriately, a bigger draw compared to Pacquiao) in his last fight in Vegas.

                Those numbers would be good if the one fighting is Chris John or Lamont Peterson (or Vargas...WHoooo?!) I think instead of Floyd.

                    A top 15 gate (ALL-TIME) against Victor Ortiz?

                    Name a time when more tickets were sold with a less commercial opponent.

                    EXCELLENT GATE.
