Considering that:
1. Manny vs JMM is a virtual sold out 2 months before their fight (has raised almost $10M already) in Vegas
2. Floyd is claiming he's the bigger draw and the venue is in Vegas, his home state,
3. he fought a Mexican during a Mexican holiday, which considerably bumps up the numbers;
4. Add further that Morales and Canelo are big Mexican names already, their fan bases are huge and should be considered as a big draw too.
Considering all those expectations from Floyd, I should say that the number is definitely not good. It doesnt add up as if Floyd is a big draw (more appropriately, a bigger draw compared to Pacquiao) in his last fight in Vegas.
Those numbers would be good if the one fighting is Chris John or Lamont Peterson (or Vargas...WHoooo?!) I think instead of Floyd.
You sir, are a very ****** man. This post displays a very low IQ.
No offense.
1) Canelo's fight was a COMPETING event. It was cannibalistic, not incremental. And Canelo fought down the road in the largest Mexican market in the country.
2) This is a top 15 gate ALL-TIME. Repeat: ALL_TIME. This gate was bigger than Pacquiao-Mosley.
3) I will make you a Paypal bet that Arum's statement about the $10 million gate already for the Pac-Marquez fight is a lie. Let's go on the record and make a CASH (not points) bet. Deal?Comment

For the Klitschko-Adamek fight, there were NO EMPTY SEATS with a stadium crowd of over 40,000. In fact they had to turn away people who wanted tickets.
For this fight, Floyd BOUGHT TICKETS HIMSELF so he wouldn't appear to be a poor draw!Comment

And what city do you think could charge x amount of dollars to come close to a gate of 9 million? No city. There's a reason why the big fights go to Vegas.
To TS, yes it's a good number. If fights were cheaper you could easily have sell outs and beyond but it is about attracting the most amount of money. Hence why you see 13,000 people drawing more people money wise than Mannys 55,000 paid for his Cowboy Stadium fights.
So keeping all the big fights in Vegas with exorbitant prices just keeps the average consumer away. Never the less that PPV prices are extremely high and they're still charging $10 for HD.
For Mayweather/Mosley I took 5 students to the theater to watch, and we had a great time. For this fight, I took my uncle and my cousin, since it was my uncle's bday and do something different w/ him instead of the usual. Last year I paid $9.50 per ticket, pretty reasonable. This year I paid $15.00 for each ticket.
So at this rate, I'll be streaming Mayweather fights until he fights 'he who not be named'Comment
