Gomez was winning that fight before the stoppage. Canelo looked unimpressive, not even into the fight. When you think about how dominant Cotto was against him, you have to wonder how good he is. I bet you Golden Boy is starting to agree with Arum now when he said these guys were both limited.

Nice one.....im not mad at it....This fight protects both fighters from other more dangerous situations they are going to be in both having titles. It will sell big and will be very competitive IMO, let them make a name off and lose to each other instead of getting destroyed which is what a lot of people seem to think, particularly about Chavez Jr.

Cotto is one of the 10 best fighters of his era so you can't compare Alvarez to him. Cotto can fight using any style from boxing behind a jab to just just throwing power punches and brawling. But I agree with you when you say Alvarez and Chavez Jr are limited and one dimensional. They need to make this fight before both Jr and Canelo get exposed because once that happens they won't be able to rip Mexicans off because this two guys are build as the future of that country.

I think he was talking about Cotto's older brother. That's the one that fought Alvarez.

I thought Nacho Beristein made this statement?

I think the real news is that Golden boy and Top rank have kept true to their words so far by pitting their fighters against each other. Let's hope they continue to do so!

One of these fighters are going to lose their 0, should make for a decent scrap.

But Mexicans here in Mexico, 60/40 let's say want to Chavez to win.
That's because for the Mexicans the dream of Senior lives on vicariously through the illusion of Jr...that has been the only reason for his support in Mexico where Senior is a god. If Jr was the son of Jose Jimenez with the skills and talent of Jr...would anybody ever have cared about him?

No he was talking about the trashing Cotto gave Gomez.
