Who wrote that thread before the fight saying that Floyd will draw over 1.6m?

This fight was promoter to the max, from 24/7 shows being on CNN.
You had the fight on Mexican Independence day weekend.
The PPV event covered two cards, with two main events one with Floyd the other with Mexico's biggest attraction ever, who draws audiences up to 35m in Mexico.
Also Ortiz is a big star, touted as the next Golden Boy.

Well friday is only the day before saturday it is basically a week. Besides what they put tomorrow might just be an early total. But if what Phantom said Rafael and Kim are saying about it doing 1.3-1.4 damn PBF is alot more of a draw than anybody ever though he could be. Cause I have to admit Clottey MIGHT have been more known than Ortiz.

Victor Ortiz was about as well known as Joshua Clottey. A realistic expectation is about 800K for that type of opponent.

Ortiz' biggest fight was on WCB against Andre Berto.

LOl my dude gino trying to be proactive just in case the numbers are under a million. . . But if they are 1.2-1.5, then gino can say "this proves how much of a draw mayweather is without a good B-side opponent!"

Ortiz is A LOT bigger than clottey. . . he had been hyped up a lot by golden boy (and hbo - they have done shows on him before), and has been on HBO a lot for the past 2 years. . . the whole maidana incident, although reflected in a negative light, still brought all the more attention to him. . .

And he's mexican-american fighting on mexican independence day. .

        Expect around 1.2 milly.

How do they calculate movie theatre ticket purchases?

          Here is that thread

If Mayweather-Ortiz does anymore then 1.8Million PPV buys, Pac doesn't deserve 50/50

Ortiz's fanbase is quite larger than Clottey's. I was in the Garden for Cotto vs Clottey, and I kid you not (I counted), there were 4 Clottey fans. They were running around with their native flag and almost got beaten up!

                not to mention this show had a 4-part 24/7. . . pac/clottey did not. . .

ortiz is a MUCH bigger draw, and MUCH more well known than clottey. . . he's mexican-american - come on - he's gonna be known. . . dude had his own promo show on HBO before. . . The Maidana incident. . . gtfo if you honestly think clottey is even close to being the draw ortiz is.

                OWNED. . . that's all, thanks

i would think that, for every $60 in theater buys would = 1 PPV buy, seems right yea?

but how many demanded their money back asap? You have to factor those in to get the "true" PPV numbers
