I'm not voting on poll but Joe Cortez didn't say fight on from what he said. I don't know that whole fight is screwed up to be honest. I hate it and wish we could talk about something else.
How do you score Mayweather's KO Punch?? Official Poll!

Now that Cortez has came out and said that he never told the 2 to fight, my stance has changed a little bit. When he said "lets go" and waved them together, in the past i've seen that done so that the ref can instruct the fighters to keep it clean or give directions followed by a "time in" or "fight". Cortez waved the both of them together, then focused his attention on the time keeper. He did it backwards.Last edited by Deevel916; 09-21-2011, 11:50 AM.Comment

This is where Cortez screwed up. You cant signal the fight "back on" prior to it actually being back on by notifying the time keeper that its "back on". Nonetheless, Vic should have been on point. Even when fighters touch gloves, they still stay cautious. It was a legal blow and an KO but none of the KO's I would be proud off... it simply looks bad because it looks like Ortiz is unaware of it - even though through his own fault - because Cortez signaled already that the fight was back on... I really do believe as soon as he saw Ortiz fell to the ground that he hoped he would get up... he ain't celebrated like after his last KO victory... so it is an KO - legal - but nothing you can be proud off - like winning a fight through dq or injury - it's a win but nothing that you can really hang your hat onComment

It was mostly that he looked away and sort of relaxed his body when Floyd hit him with the right. the left he would have been fine from.Comment

It was great very memorable, I still don't get why Ortiz let Floyd him him twice Floyd caught him good with the first one but to look away even more exposing your chin so he can catch you with his power hand, lol.
I can understand why people don't like it from an accomplishment perspective but I think it really is a great highlight, honestly every young fighter should watch that last 20 seconds and see how a fighter should react versus what a fake does.Comment
