I don't understand this thing where people like Lederman say that you don't attack an 80yr old man. First, he wasn't physically attacked. Verbally, yes! But that poor 80yr old man uses his words to attack Floyd and others all the time. We are not talking about some old dude in the streets. Merchant uses his seat at HBO as a bully pulpit to rip Mayweather and blame him for all that's wrong in boxing. If he is young enough to give it, then he's young enough to receive it.

The ironic thing is that Merchant's unprofessionalism in dealing with the situation simply justified Mayweather's call for him to be fired.

When Mayweather said to him to go interview Ortiz because he was finished with him, Merchant faced him and started saying "What are you talking about?" in an agressive manner instead of trying to defuse the situation. That only enraged Floyd further.

No wonder people cant make a connection with him when being interviewed....he never makes eye contact. Seems the only time he does is when he is being confrontational.

He needs to go, I dont care what age he is.
