I thought I was watching WWE rather than Boxing. Mayweather did learn a lot from his time at WWE. Ortiz took the fall and is 2.5mil richer. He could have stood up like he did with Berto but decided not to.

A rematch would get Floyd no ratings but he could use it to stay busy. When watching the fight live I kept mentioning to my people how Cortez needs to be watchin those headbutts cos they were quite clear that he was tryin to subtly headbutt Floyd and in round 3 i think he tried the same butt he tried in round 4 but missed and wasn't as venemous.

I worry for Ortiz though because I see Mayweather going gully on him a second time round. Mayweather and Hopkins are 2 guys you don't want to rematch because the liklihood of you losing is much higher.

Mayweather had figured Ortiz out for the most part by Round 3. You could see Floyd relax his shoulders and his stance a bit as he had Victor's timing and wasn't as defensive anymore as he started to use the uppercut and left hood to the body to good effect as opposed to mainly the right hand which he used in rounds 1 and 2.

I wish it went on longer because round 4 Floyd looked like himself from the Gatti fight with them combinations...imagine seeing that for a good 5 or so rounds. It's a shame because Mayweather was looking like he was gonna put on a show, but Victor pissed him off with those headbutts.

Bradley and Hopkins get condemned for headbutts and so should Ortiz, at least Mayweather threw shots that are legal in the context of BOXING!

After touching gloves, Floyd landed a left hand and followed up with a right hand that floored the former WBC welterweight champion. Ortiz had his hands by his side when Mayweather caught him. You must be insane if you think im going to fork over another $60 for a fight like that!
Floyd did what he had to do, but Ortiz is too green, too gullible and too weak minded for an elite like floyd (which may be one of the reasons they chose him).
Four rounds is all we need to see.Floyd is the better fighter and more importantly he is stronger mentally.Ortiz got just what he deserved and wanted.Ortiz is a LOSER! Ortiz wanted to lose, when he realized he couldn't win.The headbutt was desperation, the hugging was capitulation, and walking to Floyd with his hands down was submission. He accepted his fate.Afterwards he had that same dumb smile on his face,he had at the weigh in. He was not upset at all. He was relieved it was over.

no thanks on the rematch.... it was a mismatch when it was signed, and it will be a mismatch if it gets signed again... ortiz had the physical tools to push floyd to the limit, but his inexperience/immaturity PROVED to be the factor (like many boxing fans predicted).

ortiz needs to drop back and join berto, bradley, etc....

I think you may be right. It looked to me like Ortiz was looking for a way out. His heart has been questionable in the past obviously against Maidana, but if you paid attention to the Peterson fight you can see when he no longer has the heart to be in the ring. He proved us all wrong against Berto, but now I just think he's back to his pre-madonna ways...

U had a young lion who didn't have floyds skill set

But ended up being competitive in the fight

closely winning two rounds and that is the

intrigue. Could the young lion follow a plan to

                beat the grand master?

Floyd wasn't so impressive if u really look at the fight

Footing was bad. Whiffing punches. The combo he threw

in the forth Ortiz totally covered and blocked then landed some

food combos of his own sending Floyd into tue ropes.

I expected more landed punches from Floyd altho he looked good not great.

Ortizs answer to floyds garbage elbow to the throat all

night was putting his head up under floyds chin. The lunging

head butt I don't agree with and the fake hug

premeditated sucker punch combo was pretty ***** made

coming from the beat boxer of the last 23 years.

Rewatch the fight , study it for the things I mentioned

don't just look at floyds 6 right hands per round.

                Study it.

Seriously. Unbiassed. Study it to learn.

Then I would say your eyes are Bias as hell .. victors combos only drove floyd back because he would do a full on bull rush with his head down.

Floyd had already gotten Victors timing and rhythm down, which if you know floyd, always mean his opponent doom.
once floyd has a fighter rhythm down, he systematically break them down like bowa squeezing the life out of its pray until it loses all hope and excepts its fate.

Victor had excepted his fate after round 3 but decided to go down with his middle finger held high, only to get it snapped off.. lol

is it just me or does nobody seem to remember when ortiz fought berto and after the fifth rd when they traded knockdown, at the beginning of the sixth berto tried to touch gloves with ortiz and the first thing ortiz did was throw a punch.(im guessing nobody remembers that) ortiz is a dirty fighter and a punk. in boxing the first guy that wants to hug is the guy that is ready to quit looks like to me karma came full circle and he was gonna be out of there by the 9th rd anyway because floyd was fighting with bad intentions. ive never seen him that focused before

And just funny how u got Victoria takin pics on his twitter with the Harry Potter actor after his loss with a goofy smile! It doesn't seem like he didn't even care so why do u guys! Some boxers just are delirous callin out boxers and thinkin they can actually win , but in retrospect they aren't even in the same league! Joke! Who takes pictures and is all smiles after losing the WBC belt ! No1! Embarassing!
