Martinez has a fight in October. By then, we would have probably been knowing who Mayweather chooses for his next opponent, whether a rematch with Ortiz or if he's gonna wait for Pacquiao. So if you're being realistic, and putting fight schedules, time, and everything in to place, Martinez is out of the question for now.

And Floyd already said if Ortiz wants a rematch, he can get a rematch. In the post fight interview.
thats just talk.....he doesnt need ortiz to sell PPV's...he can fight anyone. His team will not face Ortiz right away....not with all that headbutting and hugging and kissing.....

and especially with all these videos of cortez instructing them to fight..EVERYBODY knows Ortiz did this to himself.......why would mayweather go in a 8 week training camp to fight this headbutting quitter?

people want to see a rematch cause Ortiz wasnt ready to fight?....lol...they cant sell that crap man...

this is just as bad as Cotto-Pac 2
Ortiz did not get broken down. Yes, he was missing a lot, but he was all game and the fight was exciting while it lasted. Floyd had the fans on their feet and saying ooh and ahh, Ortiz had the fans on their feet with his flurries. It was an exciting fight that a lot of people would like to see again.

after he beats Berto yes.....he doesnt belong in the same ring with Mayweather right now......

mayweather is gonna starve him..make him go work for the payday again...he isnt gonna rematch him right away...

that fight was easy as hell and no rematch is gonna change the outcome....

Al Haymon is going to get Berto and Ortiz to rematch...that would have more public interest then mayweather-ortiz now....

Mayweather was just in the ring with Ortiz..he knows his style...he would expose this kid next time even worse

I doubt that we will know Mayweathers opponent before next month, Martinez is fighting in like 2 weeks. A Martinez fight would be huge for his legacy and nobody could claim that choice to be a cherry pick or that Floyd is scared to take a real risk.

Arellano says @FloydMayweather has 30 days to express interest in rematch, otherwise focus will be on rematch with @AndreBerto. #boxing If PPV numbers strong, Arellano believes @FloydMayweather could opt for rematch rather than go down @MannyPacquiao road again. #boxing
Everybody's missing the original point of the thread. lol

The comments by Arellano basically lays the blame for Victor's loss on Ortiz himself. When the best your own manager can say in your defense is that your opponent "exhibited poor sportsmanship," the debate is all but over. (Of course it's not, but.... lol)

But a Pacquiao fight would obviously be a lot better.

Casuals actually saying if the fight continued, Ortiz would have won. So this fight would probably do more PPV buys the second time around, just because of the controversy surrounding the first one.
There will not be a rematch , nobody will buy it as Floyd was in total control and was going to stop him in a few rounds anyway ,,,, .

It will be Pac next if Arum really wants the fight .
