And the Pacquiao vs. Ortiz Countdown Begins...NOW!

It is a certainty that The Illiterate Congressman will fight Ortiz.

    Reasons:

    1) Floyd already beat Ortiz. The illiterate congressman loves Floyd's leftovers

    2) Ortiz was knocked out. The illiterate congressman loves damaged goods.

    3) Ortiz is now a national name that the illiterate congressman's Puppetmaster can exploit without having to build the promotion very much

    4) There is a natural storyline/background around that fight

    5) Cinco de Mayo weekend is a natural for a Mexican-heritage fighter. What bigger name MexAm fighter in Spring 2012 than Ortiz?

...All this hinges, of course, that the illiterate congressman doesn't get schooled again by old, fat Marquez.

Ortiz still is a bit to prime for Pacman to take at the momment. If Pac does decide to take the fight now am sure they will ask for another Pac catchweight with a hydration clause because a 14 plus weight advantage from a young, powerful, and fast opponent is way more dangerous then a 17 plus weight advantage opponent who is slow, past prime, and feather fisted. Frankly, I think Ortiz is still too dangerous for Pac at the momment. So I disagree with you that Ortiz could be next.

I think Bradley would be more of a name due to his unbeaten record that Arum might want for Paq, which isn't bad at all.

If Pac does take Bradley after Marquez I will give Pac all the credit in the world. Even if Pac makes Bradley go to 147(which is pretty much guarenteed), I still will like the fight.

Wouldn't Arum prefer to "parallel path" Bradley and Pac? If Pac destroys Bradley in a near-term bout, then what advantage/economic usefulness has Arum gained from the Bradley signing?

Arum is gonna be really careful about matching manny. The Mosley fight was a mess.

People have grown weary of those matchups.
