HBO crew is by far the best currently commentating for boxing.

Showtime's announcers are ****ing horrible. Tarver is the only saving grace they have. If a fight is absolutely ****ing horrible, they will still talk it up as some brilliant chess match. Atleast HBO commentators will say when a fight just plain sucks (Looking at you Alexander vs Bradley).

    ESPN...Teddy Atlas...nuff said.

      Lampley is ok.

Ledderman did the same thing during the Mayweather - Hatton fight. He gave like 4 rounds to Hatton lol But in my opinion, he's not bad. He doesn't need to get fired or anything.

Lastly, Merchant. Larrrrryyyy Merchant... Well, we all know how I feel about him.

So you think the commentators are doing boxing a favor by making people want to change the channel during fights they think are boring?

                  C'mon, man.

lederman does that a lot - he will give a guy a round who lost, but didn't lose "as bad" as the last round - he will TRY to give the underdog rounds. . . the devon alexander/kotelnik card where he had devon winning 116-112 was disgraceful. . .

but lederman, merchant, and lampley DO KNOW A LOT about boxing, actually. . . having an outside perspective can give you great insight into boxing - im sure they know a lot more than most of us on here - they have been calling fights ringside for decades. . . sure, they don't have that "in the ring" perspective, but neither do you.
