Just for him to beat Berto and deciding to come out and fight Floyd as his first defense was career suicide. Nobody expected him to get into a fight like this after the Maidana loss and he did. He coulda easilly said he wanted to rematch Maidana on 9/17 or fight Malignaggi as his first defense, but he decided to go at it with arguably one of the greats. With all the negativity boxing has been getting these past five years with Pac refusing drug test, Margs plastering, Mosley juicing, DLH and Hatton doing coke, Arguello and Valero suicides, and Mayweather's domestic abuse. Ortiz showed the casual fans that there exist sportsmanship and he was very apologetic as a fighter. I'm hearing a lot casual fans want a rematch even if they think Ortiz will lose, but they think the kid deserves a shot. Looking at it this way Ortiz did boxing some good showing the public that there are positive things boxing can do for someone's life. Ortiz should shake this off cuz had Ortiz hit May twice with cheap shots May woulda been KO'd worse...I'm proud of Ortiz...
We should all give Ortiz his props

People seem to have forgotten everything pre-KO apart from some nice Floyd right hands.....Ortiz was doing WELL. He was walking through Floyd's right hands, which didn't look particularly troublesome/powerful...he was winning the 4th round, and I had him winning the 2nd. He was actually having a very good moment before he got KO'd. I think a rematch should be in order, it would've been intersting to see what would have happenedComment

Ortiz is a punk, Berto is a bigger punk, and I'm glad he got KTFO. I hope Floyd goes after Berto and sends him back to obscurity now too.Comment

Ortiz would have lost against any top boxer.
Mayweather was an easy choice.
Big pay day. Set for life now if he is smart.Comment

I quite agree with your post. That was my opinion of the fight up to that point, also.People seem to have forgotten everything pre-KO apart from some nice Floyd right hands.....Ortiz was doing WELL.
