the guy is a cancer, and I swear, if he botches this fight and makes it into a ****ty fight when it might have the potential of being good if not a great fight?? Unfortunately - you better get the video camera ready IMO. I mean, why would Cortez stop ****in up fights NOW??? (which is why I'm not sure if I want to buy the fight or wait for the FREE replay)

Whilst Cortez is a pretty crap ref i don't agree that he has such an impact that he causes fighters to lose fights.

Mayweather was always going to outclass Hatton, doesn't take a rocket scientist to work that one out. Khan took Maidana's best punches and never went down, it's just an excuse Maidana fans/Khan haters want to use to say that Maidana would have won if it wasn't for Cortez.

He's not the best ref but he won't be the difference between winning or losing for Ortiz. I really hope he is not used as an excuse when Mayweather wins.

Joe Cortez's boxingscene account or someone related to him? Cortez is not a great ref by all means. Great refs rarely have off nights, he has had several off nights. Great refs are Smoger, Weeks, and Bayless.
