I know these are simply snippets of training, which only give you a small idea how things are operating within camp, but isn't Garcia aware that Mayweather doesn't use a shoulder roll stance against southpaws. He uses a high guard.

Also seen during mittwork training and with sparring partners, they are always fighting going backwards against Ortiz.

Have a feeling that Garcia has looked too much into the Hatton fight.

Floyd will be coming forward with a high guard and pressing the action with a solid body attack.
It doesn't sound like Danny knows what he's doing at all. If you read a recent private interview of his, it sounds like he's genuinely unaware of the fact that Floyd's BODY ASSAULT is what broke Zab down. I understand if a silly boxing fan didn't notice that, but this is a trainer from a boxing family we're talking about.

Floyd has dealt with better jabbers in his career, I don't remember anyone's jab ever hurting his shoulder. Ortiz has the typical southpaw jab that mainly focuses on setting up other punches. There's nothing devastating about it. I don't see how Ortiz silly jab can hurt Floyd shoulder.

Do you guys even know that Floyd's way the faster guy in this?
So while Ortiz's going to the body Floyd will just be smiling doing nothing right?
How many people have been able to hit Mayweather's body?
Now you know why Mayweather has long arms I guess to cover that body while watching your every move and punishing you through any gap you present.

The more hardworking Ortiz is the more he will get punished. If we have a 5th round at all,by the time we get there Ortiz will be target practice and fighting at Mayweather's pace

In theory your right but we watch be cause there a percentage chances. A bigger younger hungrier left hander brings the wonder out in me. Prime Ortiz is greater than Prime Corley and straighter lefts so IDK

Virgil HUnter starts to talk a 62:30.
He explains why mayweather is doing so much mitt work and how to overcome the shoulder roll.

Virgil makes a great point about Floyd's shoulder being used to line up his opponent for his right hand, and that the worst thing you could do is try and attack the shoulder. Goes on to further explain that if you watch his mittwork, how many times do the mitts hit his shoulder, he's been doing those combinations a 1000 times over - it's a timing mechnasim - once you hit his shoulder, this is where he times you the best.

Damn, that was some great stuff from Virgil Hunter. I never saw it that way. I feel even more sorry for Carl Froch right now.
