Floyd is a con man and IMO is thought of as this great boxer who does no wrong just because the black community has a figure at #1. Kind of like the ***** phenomenon, lots of blacks and ********** voted for him never saw past the color of his skin, basically ***** was voted president on charisma alone. OJ Simpson shared a similiar following during his murder trial...the bastard was guilty as hell but the black community defended him just because of the color of his skin.The same can be said of Floyd...cherry picking and ducking his way to greatness ever since the DLH fight and none of his fans minds the level of his competition just as long as he keeps winning. *sidenote* This was a discussion brought up in one of my sociology classes in college and I thought that it might be relevant here.

I disagree, Ortiz did beat Berto impressively as well mind you, he was also comming off of a nice string of come back fights against some pretty solid guys.
The draw against Peterson I thought he won, it was close but I do beleive he won that.

and this is the same peterson that gave Floyd some very good work in sparring. The kid held the WBC title, southpaw with big power, the only reason people are saying he was cherry picked now is because of how the fight ended.

This to me was no cherry pick, not comming off of a 16 month lay off, being 34 years old and having not fought a prime fighter since Ricky Hatton who really was a Jr Welter weight.


As much as I do not like Mayweather as a person, you cant make a case that Ortiz was cherry picked, While Pac was busy getting ready for Marquez, Floyd took the next best welter and thats the truth....
