Comments Thread For: Rogan's Bout With Pineda is Off, Sanctioning Dispute

Martin Rogan's WBU heavyweight title clash against Panama's Lewis Andreas Pineda scheduled for the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on the 27th of October is off. The British Boxing Board of Control is understood to have refused to sanction the bout amid doubts over the ownership of the WBU belt. Separate organizations in the US and Germany are both claiming jurisdiction over the lightly-regarded belt.

Odd, that. I'm not au fait with this supposed dispute at the sanctioning body itself (because face it, who the **** would get to hear about that even if by some chance they actually wanted to know), but I'm interested about what the BBBoC says regarding their reasons, because they were happy enough for Hatton, Choi etc. hold WBU titles not long ago.
