Then if Floyd whoops up on Pacquiao he STILL won't get credit, people will then say, "Oh Pacquiao was too small, he doesn't have enough reach, Floyd waited too long, why ask for tests, Pacquiao woulda done this last year, woulda done that at this weight.". Dream on.
From all indications, Floyd will avoid Pac like he did with Cotto and Marg. He will also stay away from Martinez. He no longer takes fights where he is not at least a 6 to 1 favorite.
With Pac, it's almost even. So that's out. Same with Sergio.
With Cotto or Margo, it's probably not greater than 2 to 1. Nope, too risky.

the truth is you can only say margarito. the cotto myth has been known by true boxing fans for many years. i do think floyd ducked margarito and have never seen a valid argument debating it.

if he just fought pac (win or lose) before any other fighter, all credit should be given to him no matter who he beats next as he is # 2 after pac at Welter...

It's not a myth. Maybe when Cotto was still fighting in the LWW, but not when he moved to WW and after winning against Shane and just before his bout with Gomez.

Read the 2/26/08 article by Scoop Malinowski where these statements were quoted.

Emmanuel Steward- "You'll never see it. It's a match up I would like to see. But I don't think Floyd will ever fight him." When asked if HBO can force Floyd, Steward replied, "I won't even get to that. I just don't think you'll ever see it."

Cotto - "That's the thing he (Floyd) does for his entire career. He run from the really good boxer kind, he chooses others. I don't know how the people who know boxing put him in the first place in the p/p champion." When asked if Floyd is actually scared of him, Cotto answered, "I don't know what kind of reason he has for choosing another fighter. If you want to be the best you have to fight the best. He's quick. He's fast. But when you put pressure on him he closes his mind."

i see you really think the boxing world is conspiring against floyd. but think about this floyd brings most of the criticism upon himself by not fighting fighters that the world or boxing fans actually wanted to see. unfortunately this is one of this fight, sorry to burst your bubble kid.

Stop bumping your pointless thread. Mayweather would box Pacquiao's head off. Period. End of discussion.
