What do you see that makes you think Ortiz has false confidence ?

What I see in Jr. is a NEED to out trash talk, he NEEDS IT, he don't have the deep game heart that doesn't NEED it , because a deep game heart like JMM OR PAC are deeply satisfied.

Jr. IS NOT !! Written all over his face , his LIFE as a precriminal , when you add up his life 1 + 1 doesn't equal 2, its something off the wall.

IF it werent' for his skills to keep him above the fray AND the last seven years of fighting:

      Little guys

      OLD Guys

and one wee little fatman from the featherweights he would have already lost and we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I see ORTIZ Settled, secure, unbothered by Jr.s rants and raves with little respect for Jr. Thats GOOD when going to war, no need to bow to the dumb@$$, Just go out and KICK THAT @$$ !!!!!!!!!!

Truth is I think Pacquiao would have a lot more fans if it wasn't for all the *******s. They are some of the most obnoxious and ignorant posters I've come across. I'm talking *******s not pacfans, big difference.

I think there is a chance that Ortiz will get frustrated and quit or get sloppy and get KO'd. Ortiz has a short fuse and he got dropped by Berto because he was open and payed. Berto couldn't keep Ortiz off of him, stamina went and the pressure was too much. If Floyd is really coming to fight, I say the match will get stopped in the 10th. If not, then a 12rd shut out, UD win for Floyd Mayweather Jr, new WBC WW champion.

Ortiz put on a great show with Berto but Ortiz ain't fighting Berto. Ortiz got caught way too much and Floyd is the type to keep them connect stats piling up on fighters with no D. Pressuring Mayweather is not the way to beat him. You have to box him by using the ring ,stick a solid jab out there, make it count and him pay everytime there is an opening with landing a flush power shot and follow up accurately because there may not be another chance. Good luck to Ortiz and Mayweather.
Three things Grustler that Ortiz must do to win, omit any of the three and he loses :

          1. Don't bumrush and fight thru the frustration with strong shots to the end.
          2. Jab, whether he has one or not he must jab to the end
          3. When he hurts Jr. He can't quit like old man mosley , he must continue to hurt Jr. he must get more intense as the fight proceeds til he has his man on his back

It's ridiculous that people can't debate no more without being cursed out or disrespected. The game changed and not for the better. No fan analyst comparing styles and strategies or interesting opinions, no nothing. This Pac and Floyd thing has gotten way out of hand and it took another poster to point that out to me today. Nothing is ever going to change until the fight happens so why waste the words, time and energy on it? The truth is out there and if people really want to see it then there it is. If not, then we continue to recycle the same BS arguments. I'm out of this nonsense. All I want to do is talk about boxing and debate with people that really got an interest and love for the sport and not for the fighter on a serious personal level. Can't wait for the fight this weekend.
Dang mang I AGREE with YA !!!!!!

Dude, Floyd makes everyone he fight miss and pay. After a few rounds of this, it starts to affect his opponents psychologically because they start to think about the fact that every time they throw a punch and miss, they will get hit with something, so they start throwing fewer punches to avoid getting hit so often. Oscar stopped throwing the jab as much because Floyd was causing him to miss and countering him every time and stunned him at least one time in the fight.

The only way I see Ortiz winning this fight is if he throws caution to the wind and goes after Mayweather aggressively as soon as the fight starts -- just as Glenn Johnson did to Roy Jones -- and never lets up. If he does that and is even semi effective, he may be able to land a million dollar punch somewhere in the middle to late rounds and give all the *******s on this site the greatest ****** they will ever have. However, what I expect is that Ortiz will win the first round (at least on Harold Letterman and Larry Merchant's scorecard). After that, Mayweather will go to work with his counters and body shots. By round 7 or 8, Ortiz's face will be a bloody mess and he will be ready to quit. By round 9 or 10, Ortiz will go down and stay down (either because he is hurt or just wants to quit)

Inorder for anyone to beat Floyd Mayweather Jr they would have to have patience and stay focused because it's hard to break Floyd because he is a sound boxer. Unfortunately I don't think Victor Ortiz has the temperment to deal with the experience and ring generalship of Floyd. Victor is a big, strong guy but being technical always nullifies aggressive opponents.

                    Big James mang,

I do agree partially with what you have said. Good post.

Yes Ortiz must jump on Jr. with a tight guard and shoot that straight left thru his guard with short crisp shots, none of the wild swinging and keep his eyes open thru the counters. Ortiz must double his feints to make the counter punch be a tad off and use the right hook to the body, make double feints triple feints and fight thru the frustration that is coming and continue to til he out wills Jr.

Thang is mang, we don't know what JR. will do in this day if he can't have his way after that first round !!!!!!

Ortiz can dump you at any given time and with his new found desire that lasted thru a terrible knockdown he can bring it again especially in the later rounds due to his tremendous conditioning and will to win.

Its interesting to me that no one has taken Jr to the trenches deep in the trenches especially in the later rounds,,,Ortiz can with his youth speed and awesome punching power in either hand, something Jr. has not dealt with in over 7-10 years so we don't KNOW ,,,smiles,,,but we will see.

Ortiz must Jab whether he has one or not or he will be eat up

Ortiz must HURT jr, if he don't he loses

I agree with your first sentence , no bull about it mang.

I would have agreed with your second sentence, after the Maidana fight I wrote Ortiz off and said you QUIT , you will quit QUICKER the next time.

That applys to bulldogs and I applied it to boxers but I was wrong, Ortiz proved me wrong.

I am interested to see how far he will go , will he fight thru the frustration that Jr will present , will he jab , will he hurt Jr.

                      I will have to wait.
