Lopez was planning on going to 130 before the Salido fight too. That fight will still happen if Lopez can manage to not lose when the fight is there to be made, like last time.

It they want to make the fight happen at 126 they should make it NOW! If Gamboa moves up to 130 or even 135 it will take much longer because Donaire has to get ready for those classes. You cant do it over night. I want both to be at their best when they fight.

Arum was talking about this fight being made in 2012. You have to take that with a grain of salt. Nonito would pretty much have to move straight up to 126 for that to happen. I think that's a mistake. Donaire ought to fight at least one or two bouts at 122 first, maybe (hopefully) versus Rigondeaux. Even if Nonito goes ahead with plans to move straight to FW, he would have to take on a couple of names there first before knocking on Gamboa's door.

This will be a great fight if it ever comes to pass. But there are a lot of "ifs" to overcome before "El Ciclon" and the "Filipino Flash" ever meet. (Sounds like a comic book title. lol)
