McCloskey just isn't that good, despite what he and his fans think. He couldn't figure Prescott out and looked beaten most of the fight.

He might have won on paper, but he is a Euro level fighter at best and one Maidana will probably stop if they meet. He struggled against Khan, struggled even more again Prescott and it won't be long before we don't hear much of him, just a few more fights against world level guys and everything will be revealed.
He has no offense whatsoever, even when prescott was up against the ropes McCloskey wasn't up to much. I agree Maidana will stop him. Felt a little sorry for Prescott because he won even if it was close, but then I remembered how much smack he talked and didn't feel that sorry for him.

I only gave McClsoskey 4 rounds, if you consider all that and the knock down, it's definitely a robbery. Even in rounds 10, 11 where Prescott was out of gas, he still managed to outland McCloskey and win those rounds.

Mccloskey is nowhere near a world level. Maidana would've smashed that face to pieces.

Anyone else notice McCloskey body composition?
He is a 140lb fighter, yet looks skinny and fat at the same time and lacks muscle and what appears strength.

Its almost like he needs to be fighting at 130 - 135, but no doubt he would be too slow there, but he doesn't look strong at 140. His body looks soft, whereas Prescott looks like he could make 154 in the future and still look like a fighter, not a skinny fat kid.

Not wanting to paste McCloskey, but after watching the fight i have more questions then answers.

Even though Prescott was tired later on i still thought he won, But you could see he wouldnt get the decision, Not a major robbery but i think he has grounds to complain..

I agree with your comments. Prescott boxed clever the 1st half of the fight. Didn't waste much, kept it behind the jab only really took the occasional body shot. There was no early impression of a windmill that you would normally see with him and he was fighting someone whos offensive output is minimum yet he still gassed in the 2nd half of the fight!

I gave it to Prescott by a couple, close enough not to be called a home town d but I thought Prescott had doen enough. Wouldn't have been close if he didn't gas.

I scorared it for Prescot but wasnt at all surprised when I heard the scorecards. The Irish cheered every Mclosky punch and I knew beofre the fight that if Prescot didnt stop him they would rob him on the cards. Fun fight to watch though. Prescot did gas but at the end of the 12th it was Paul who was out on his feet and needed that final bell. Another minute and Prescott would have finished him IMO. With Prescott off the scene the pressure if off Khan and Paul didnt show anything that would suggest eh can cause any problems in world class.
