I felt he should have gotten the win because he landed the cleaner shots. His jab was really good too.

hometown decision. Prescott stopped throwing his bombs later on though, he can landed flush in the early rounds. then he stopped throwing, i think he gassed.

I thought Prescott won by a point, bit of a funny fight. McCloskey hasn't got an offense at all, Prescott landed the better head shots all night, while McCloskey landed better to the body. Prescott took like 4 rounds off, which made the fight close, like others have said he gassed big time. Might have been the body work to give McCloskey some credit. I can't see either guy winning a world title.

            Just watched the fight.

Mccloskey was fighting the bigger man, so his shoulder roll defense didn't work very well, and he should stop blocking shots with his head. In some rounds it's clear he used his head as a bait, really I mean wtf .... If he continues to fight like this his face is gonna get smashed again against a better opponent, forcing early interruption again.

The knockdown in the first round didn't happen. I saw one judge didn't seem to call it either. Prescott just pushed Mccloskey's head with a missed shot, and he lost balance. Also, I don't know punchstats, but Prescott's accuracy seemed pretty horrible overall. He was throwing those jabs a lot, but I could say only a few connected per round, while Mccloskey threw less but more accurate shots. Also in the last 2 rounds Prescott looked like his legs were gone. He was just throwing wild shots and held way too much. Mccloskey, the smaller guy there, couldn't finish him off, even though he caught him against the ropes a few times.

I would say a pretty close fight, that could have gone either way.
Neither guy on the world class level. Mccloskey clearly showing more skill though.

Oh and the knockdown was BS, prescott landed a grazing punch but his arm and the subsequent follow through pushed McCloskey to the floor. I had it 6-5 and 1 even to Prescott. I think the 12th round was the argument point for a lot of people, as McCloskey seem to be winning the first 2 minutes, but Prescott hurt him in the last 30 seconds and landed some good shots.

He started out dominant, but lost a lot of late rounds. It was a close fight he probably should have won.

Prescott looked in control the opening 6 rounds, then started to tire and then pretty much ran out of gas by the 10th and McCloskey managed to come back.

What I realised is that unless Prescott can sort out his stamina issues, he is a 10 round fighter at best because he is very crude but even more so when he gets tired.
McCloskey just isn't that good, despite what he and his fans think. He couldn't figure Prescott out and looked beaten most of the fight.

He might have won on paper, but he is a Euro level fighter at best and one Maidana will probably stop if they meet. He struggled against Khan, struggled even more again Prescott and it won't be long before we don't hear much of him, just a few more fights against world level guys and everything will be revealed.
