if one-dimensional maidana can stop ortiz, i don't see any reason why the best fighter in the world can't.

Floyd may not KO him with raw power like maidana but when youre getting hit by sneaky counters you don't see coming, it takes a lot out of you!

plus while victor took a day off training to go fishing mayweather was still in the gym puttting in work

i understand he may not be everyone's cup of tea but you can't not show respect for the manner in which he has the discipline to train every single day so hard even when he's not fighting regular thats dedication man

mayweather's work rate is second to none

He also said he was gonna stop Mosley in the 8th round

He said if he hurt Marquez he was gonna stop him, he also told his dad he needed to get that KO.

He said he was gonna "destroy" De La Hoya

Floyd was very disappointed he couldn't KO Zab

Now I'm not saying anything negative, I love watching Floyd putting on his masterclasses and outbox guys silly for 12 rounds. This is just to show that it's very unlikely Floyd would stop Ortiz and people are idiots just throwing their KO and stoppage predictions.

yeah but with all due respect mosley has never been stopped by anyone nor has marquez they are not easy fighters to put away

i think people see this as a potential stoppage win against ortiz because of the nature of the way ortiz fights and his apparent lack of mentall toughness also

ortiz was not only stopped by maidana but he quit to save himself a savage beating he simply gave up

he'll think that mayweather can't hurt him and that while floyd is a smart fighter he is not a strong one

he is going to find out real quick that floyd is a true welterweight and will be just as strong if not stronger against ortiz

ortiz is not a stantionary target but he does get hit quite a bit and can lunge in sometimes which will leave him vulnerable

i think late TKO by mayweather is a pretty sound bet if you ask me

I see where you're coming from but I disagree bro (Ortiz voice)

lol Seriously though, I'm not saying a TKO stoppage may not happen but I think logic would show us it's very unlikely. Mosley had never been stopped but that was a 38 year old Mosley who Floyd had not problem finding his mark against but still couldn't put him away. Also, Marquez was a lightweight and there was no reason why Marquez should have seen the final belt, Marquez is a great fighter but not a good weltetweight and has no business being there. Now in the Maidana fight, Ortiz quit he wasn't KO'd or TKO'd, we don't know how that fight would have played out if Victor had the mentality he showed against Berto, You can also argue Berto has a bigger punch at welterweight than Floyd at this point, and we saw how well Ortiz took that punch.

I just don't think Mayweather has such a high output or power to stop somebody like Ortiz. His last stoppage in about 6 years was against Hatton, a chinny and natural 140 pounder. If this was the 140 version of Floyd who dismantled Gatti then I'd say absolutely he's gonna get the KO but that's not the case. Mayweather UD is almost a certain prediction.

Floyd has KOed about 6 out of ten of his opponents. With Ortiz its just the match up is made for a Floyd KO. He leads with that chin in there and when he misses...he's wide open and he will miss many punches. He's gotta sell out to have a chance. And after watching his fight with Berto, Floyd hits as hard as Berto. Berto had Ortiz drooling for a minute. I'll bet you on the KO/TKO. It will probably be a ref stoppage.

Hey you guys might be right but I think it's very unlikely that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. I also like to play devil's advocate here to spruce things up a bit lol

but you're on with that bet bro, just hit me up on p.m. so we can talk how many points on the line and confirm this!
