Comments Thread For: Guillermo Jones-Michael Marrone in Play For Nov. 5

According to WBA cruiserweight champion Guillermo Jones (37-3-2, 29KOs), he was advised that a date of November 5th in Miami, Florida has been set aside for his next scheduled fight. Jones is already doing some light training and says his opponent is going to be Michael Marrone (19-3, 14KOs), who fights at heavyweight. The placement of Marrone is possibly a testing ground for Jones, who wants to make a move to the heavyweight division. Marrone lost his last two, by KO to DaVarryl Williamson in April and a ten round decision to Darrel Madison in December.

In 18 days, we mark Guillermo Jones' 3-year anniversary as WBA cruiserweight champion. He has made one defense of his title.

      WBA.

I wonder what their response would be to this one. Actually, it doesn't matter; any response would be unsatisfactory...

marrone will be a decent test for jones.is he a CW or HW? marrone has losses to madison, williamson & pianeta.if jones can't beat the one time lou duva protege then he should stay at CW & actually defend his WBA title.

I think he can sneak that second defense in before Year 5.
