Damn people, rankings are based on what fighters have done at the weight...and Cotto should NOT be ranked 1 at 154 for his accomplishments there.

Whether or not he's the best JMW doesn't have to do with who he's beaten there necessarily, but whether you think he would beat everyone at the weight.

The answer to that is also a resounding no....Cotto is right in the middle of a packed 154 division. Styles wise many of them can beat each other.

I love Cotto but he is not the best 154 pounder that Margarito loss shattered his confidence.

I think he beats anyone at 154 with the exclusion of Sergio.

Sergiy "Razor" Dzinziruk was undefeated @ 154 before moving up to fight Martinez. Angulo and that kid who just put a whooping on Kermit would get the best of him too i think. it's not certain that he beats Margo either. im a Cotto fan and i want him to get his revenge but im still concerned about that fight.

Cotto is deffinatly not the top guy...who has he fought at thaty weight? Yuri and Mayorga...unless he fights and beats a top guy he will not be....he is more just a name right now until he beats a top guy.

also i completely forgot about Lara, P Will, Alvarez, Vanes Martirosyan, that kid Molina who i just mentioned who beat Cintron, and that polish kid...Wolak. Cotto has a bunch of tough fights but i think Margo will be his last if he wins.

my top 4 at 154 goes

                  1. martinez
                  2. angulo
                  3. cotto
                  4. canelo

martinez dominates them all...angulo ****s cotto and canelo, cotto vs canelo would be very interesting though...

this division should be shut down until these cherry pickers agree to fight each other. top rank has their own circuit and so does golden boy. angulo, lara, and alvarez are all being prepped as "future stars" by golden boy. how can they make stars of all 3 if they are campaigning in the same division? well the only way that would work is if they don't fight each other. alvarez will get super soft touches while angulo and lara do the dirty work and fight tougher competition. alvarez will still get most of the popularity though.

Canelo - Alvarez is a nobody with a lot of hype. Jose Cotto almost dropped him and he is a lightweight.
Lara - Tailor made for Cotto only has one meaningful fight vs Williams
Cintron - Have you seen him in his last two fights?
                      Molina - Please!!!!

Even if it is by defeault Cotto is the top 154 pounder and major ranking sites like ESPN and the Ring have him at #1. He is the men to beat in that division and the one who brings the most money.
pfffff look at this cotto nuthugger

yeah cotto is THEE best in the division fighting a one legged *** and going 12 rounds with an old ass mayorga solidifies this
