What makes it so bad is that even the guys that Mayweather didn't fight were ranked 5th by the time Pacquiao fought them.

Why is Pacquiao talking as if he's beaten top opposition?

I remember the boxing world giving Roy Jones lots of **** because the HW champion that he wound of facing was John Ruiz despite him trying to face Lewis.

Now, if Jones gets **** for facing a legitimate HW champion who outweighed him by more than 20lbs, what should Pacquiao get for beating 5th ranked guys who outweighed him by no more than 5 or 6lbs?

This is how boxing fails its fans.

The sports media machine can decide who THEY want to back, but only true champions of the sport will be remembered for reigning and doing extraordinary things.

Using catchweights in divisions where you can make the limit is NOT extraordinary.

Using rehydration stipulations is NOT extraordinary. DLH@145lbs? LOL!

Refusing PED testing is NOT extraordinary.

Competing for FIVE .. count them .. FIVE vacant titles instead of defeating champions for championships is NOT extraordinary.

If Pacquiao feels that he's done something extraordinary, please tell him to let us know what it was. Its ashamed to watch a boxer who has the ability to put on great performances settle for such a shabby legacy.

Arum wanted money, not a legacy. So, Arum has put Pacquiao in positions where Pacquiao wins against the guy in front of him, but the guys he's beaten at the times he beaten them held little to no glory.

Its Arum's fault for hyping those matches up by completely relying on the "David vs Goliath" dynamic, but that dynamic is meaningless because Pacquiao has only ever beaten someone who weighed about 7lbs heavier than himself. Floyd beat DLH on fight night when DLH easily outweighed Floyd by 20+lbs. Roy beat Ruiz when Ruiz easily outweighed him by 20+lbs. And both men were ranked better than 5th when those men fought them.

Some casual fans, specifically *******s, cling to Arum's hype to Pacquiao's own detriment, or at least to the detriment of Pacquiao's true legacy. Its fun to play "Whose the top boxer" right now, but when historians begin picking apart Manny Pacquiao, *******s aren't going to like it.

No matter what you think or how strongly you feel about Pacquiao, his accomplishments aren't going to be better than they really are. His career really began after 40 fights of padding. He competed for vacant titles throughout his career to define himself. He used catchweights in a division where he could have made the limit. He sought out 5th ranked fighters as the best competition he could secure.

If Pac's fans demanded more of him, he would have had a much better career.

One thing I can say about Mayweather fans is that we've been very vocal about Floyd stepping up to bigger and better challenges.

Floyd listened and kept fighting the #1 and #2 in each division.

Pacquiao fan's stayed silent and happy and allowed him to let Arum ruin his legacy.

Time will show everyone.

Boxing immortality belongs to the historians. As it is many historians don't buy into the hype that today's writers are heaping upon Pacquiao's shoulders. Its sad, but Pacquiao and his fans don't realize that Arum is about money, not his fighter's best interests.

No one will blame Arum however. Pacquiao is his own man. Manny ultimately made the decisions that led him to miss out on a great legacy and a lose most of his own money. People won't forget that. People won't forget what Marquez did to him in the first two fights. People won't forget that he fought Margarito when Margarito was STILL BANNED. People won't forget that he avoided the PED tests for 3 years.

There's a bigger picture here people, and *******s have completely missed it.
