Seriously Ortiz will not beat mayweather, tailor made opponent.

This is the first thread I have made on this fight and I do not see why so many posters out there think Ortiz will or can beat mayweather. The guys got piss poor defense, telegraphs his punches, and above all has no jab and limited boxing skills. What the hell is he going to do other than overpower mayweather, which he won't either because mayweather is most probably stronger than he is.

Additionally I would be surprised if he won more than a round let alone the scrap. He will be eating straight right hands all night, and will get busted up, and judging by his punch resistence and tender skin, probably stopped. In a nutshell Ortiz imo has no chance of winning unless mayweather grows old overnight which will not happen. Tell me what you guys think.

I agree, however, you cant say Ortiz is an illegitimate fight.

Mayweather has never been in the ring against the combination of speed, power, explosiveness, combinations, and physical strength Ortiz will bring, let alone from the southpaw stance, let alone one that wants to and can fight on the inside...

Mosley had the physical attributes, but combinations for him are 1-2 max. at this point. plus he's the one that taught Berto how to in-fight.

130 lb. Floyd couldn't escape inside fighting against Jesus Chavez, 135 lb. Floyd couldn't escape JLC in the first fight, or 147 lb. Hatton (which is why he had to get off first and hold over and over)... As long as Ortiz is on the inside and not the outside or being pushed back, he will be in the fight. Ortiz on the inside will be letting go quick right and left hooks, uppercuts, and straights in 3,4,5+ combination with power, all the while pushing Mayweather back...

Floyd will have to follow the Peterson game plan (continuous step back counters from the outside) to a T... If he doesn't, we'll be watching Floyd's closest and toughest fight since that first Castillo fight (DLH and Judah weren't what I would call tough or even close).

Floyd hand picked Ortiz. You have to ask yourself why... He knows what Ortiz has got and he sees someone he can beat and look good doing so.

Agree with your whole post plus:

              1) Mosley was never that good to begin with
              2) He was shot to dust and couldn't punch when he fought Floyd

                I believe Ortiz can win.

Floyd has the advantage in speed and technique department. But I feel Ortiz has the right tools in order to win and if he comes with a good gameplan he will beat Mayweather.

Ortiz has good speed, not as good as Floyd but it's good. He's a decent boxer and can brawl if he needs to. With good timing he can get to Floyd.

Biggest question imo is, does Floyd still have his feet? His footwork didn't look to good his last fight vs Mosley, and now he's coming off a pretty long lay off. Lacking footwork will big a big disadvantage for Floyd and big one for Ortiz.

                Personally, I see Victor winning.

I get what you're saying but Ortiz is not that strong. mosley is definitely stronger than him, and he couldn't outmuscle floyd inside. Ortiz will get beat very badly. I think it will be a mayweather exhibition culminating in a tko.
