if and only IF.....the gameplan is based on is "average" speed vs floyd.......well is going to lose badly.........the pressure and power are the tools to trouble mayweather....because call me crazy but imo floyds chin is not very good at all.....cat like reflexes and "imposible to hit" defense.....but chin i dont know......

Floyd's usual style is very selective with shots, which, together with his speed is very hard to counter.

If Floyd gets out of potshot mode and starts trying to put punches on Ortiz, yes Ortiz has a very fast counter right hook that will be very dangerous for Floyd.

bottom line.... ortiz is supposed to lose.

he has the tools to pull of the upset, but his deficiencies & inexperience outweigh it...

i think ortiz is VERY explosive, if his timing is on point, he should be able to be fast enough to catch floyd.

How's that going to work against Floyd who likes to fight at that type of slow pace? If Ortiz try to be reckless, he's going to eat counters all night. If he try to slow the pace by trying to beat Floyd to the punch, he's going to get his ears box off.

You're not going to out-box Floyd, it's not going to happen. IMO, the best way Ortiz can pull this win off is if he can smartly put pressure on Floyd without leaving himself open too much to get counter back, which would be hard to do against the current most accurate pinpoint puncher in the game.

Speed doesn't mean anything if you don't have good timing.

He should not be looking to counter but lead and throw again if he catches a shot or two he has to come right back and stifle floyds momentum if he floyd does decide to stand his ground more and look to be offensive then there will be openings to land but how often and how clean will vic have enough speed and or timing to catch floyd that's the question

One thing working against victor is under pressure in tough moments during a fight I don't think he's savvy enough to do what it'll take unless he gets cooperation from may
ortiz reacts he doesn't register and act

Ortiz has no business trying to counterpunch gayweather... Ortiz should work on throwing the jab and using southpaw angles to sneak in his power punches.... and he and his team should work on better head movement and also turning gayweather when gaywweather leans back. Ortiz should also work on exiting the pocket at an angle so that gayweather can't hit him moving away.

Ortiz won't be able to execute any of these strategies. And neither will the little midget, Manny Pacquiao.

this is good match to se where floyd is at .
he may have slowed a little but he wont worry about ortiz handspeed imo.
                      his power maybe ???
i think ortiz is a little reckless, not like mayorga but floyd will pot shot him and frustrate him .
i cant wait for sep 17.
