Zaveck was treated very poorly.
Just to re-cap:
- Zaveck was the champion who travelled 4,000 miles with all his fans to fight challenger Berto in his back yard
- they fought with a US referee and three US judges
- a US supervisor who called the fight off after 5 rounds
Berto did not stop Zaveck with a punch he headbutted him out of the fight and was awarded the title by default
To top it all off, Berto was likely on steroids.
Do the right thing boxing, give Zaveck and Khan their belts back.
