Yes their heads came together, that's not what caused either cuts, uppercuts did, and.can cause very quickswelling which in turn can cause worse cuts, good example of one uppercut causing quick and bad swelling Maidana vs Morales, Zaveck is a very solid fighter but was overmatched, Merchant had it 3-1 Berto, Zaveck was slowing down from the body shots, Idk why yall get on.here and try to find way and reasons to take a win away from a boxer you don't like, pathetic

That "headbutt" hit zaveck in the check and bertos head came up after, zaveck doesn't grab his head or his eye after, the swelling under zavecks eye, was from the clash as Roy points out but not the cut no blood was coming from the eye until more.punches landed.Last edited by J Dubb II 330; 09-04-2011, 09:53 AM.

I think Berto broke his nose with the headbutt and got a piece of the eye/cheeck.
Very sad, Berto was already tired by round #4. He was gasping for air and walking slow to the corner, Zaveck landed more shots and the heavier shots as berto was open. Berto did have some combinations but Zaveks game plan was to take Berto deep and then put the pressure on him.
Everyone could tell Berto wasnt going to make it to the 12th round, he already had his hands down and mouth wide open.
and Jan isnt the type of guy to complain, he will never say anything bad about anyone, even if you rob him he will still treat you nicely. HBO guys said he was the nicest boxer they have met.

Although Berto needed more rounds for me to be impressed, as of late, Berto has been more impressive than Cotto, Clottey, Margarito AND Mosley... (even more than JMM) AT WW.
Bottom line, Berto should call out the Mayweather vs Ortiz winner, or will Bob let Pac fight him now? If JMM gives Pac any problems dont be surprised if Bob protects his child from anymore defensive counter punchers.....
Lets see how many people flip their script and call Berto ATG if Bob allows Pac to fight Berto next.

feel bad for Zaveck because he was doing very well -- seemed to take Berto's punches well and was countering effectively -- Berto seemed to be getting more bothered by Zaveck's punches in the last 2 rounds and appeared to be a little gassed -- I honestly think that Z would have stopped Berto eventually....

Credit to Berto for showing a strong desire and balls. He is a solid contender. But the approach last night if taken against Ortiz, would have gotten Berto knocked out. Berto is very easy to hit clean and the shots he was walking into would have left him on his backside if that was a puncher he was facing. So thats the good and bad...fan friendly, but lacking defence.

[QUOTE=WESS;11082337]If JMM gives Pac any problems dont be surprised if Bob protects his child from anymore defensive counter punchers..QUOTE] Go get some mental help for your Pac obsession. Bob didn't protect Pac from one of the best counter-punchers of the last 20 years in JMM you idiot.
