It was a mismatch. Russell failed to make a statement though. It's time for Russell to step up now.

Russell is the real deal and would easily beat Mikey Garcia. Missmatch in speed and skills. Garcia would be a step behind the whole night. Garcia struggled with a club fighter 5-6 fights back and would more than stuggle against Russell, he would lose by a wide margin.

Russell looks good but failed to impress or make a statement against a tailor made opponent tonight.

Good guy, I been backing this guy since the Olympics where he wasn't able to compete. However, he had an over matched opponent. Who took the fight in short notice, this was the perfect opportunity to make a statement. And, he failed to do so, simple as that.

It's time to step up now. Garcia/Salido/Juanma/Gamboa, whoever just step up.
