In order to beat Floyd you have to force him to get out of his comfort zone. People think it's letting him lead but we saw what happens in Gatti and Marquez when he does lead. I always thought the gameplan to beat Floyd would be to never let him set or breath to constantly bring heat to him in differing patterns. That's why we saw guys like Jesus Chavez and JLC give him issues and yet superior boxers like Genaro and DLH get outboxed with little issue
Good points. I'd suggest letting him lead rounds 1-4 assuming you don't get Ko'd, which is not likely, begin the pressure in rd 5. Floyd seems to always win late rounds, like 95% of rds 9-12. Save your energy as long as you can and win rds 10-12.

Floyds never fought a really good jabber but again there's not many good jabbers at the lower weight classes. The only good ones I can think of are Cotto, Khan, and Maidana's underrated jab that doesn't get appreciated much so I have to have pictures of it landing on Khan so people can see it.

I dont see how a good jab alone can beat Floyd, considering Floyds got a good jab and probably better than your jab? So you jab floyd, and he jabs you as well, but only better.

By all means jab, but then mix it up as well. The jab will have to set up other punches. Or when he jabs you will think how you can take advantage by detonating punches on his jaw in return for pitty pattying you with his jab.

          I agree with this guy.

You need more than a good jab to beat Floyd though. He can do so many things in the ring so a good jab won't be enough.

Floyds reach is unique for a small guy which makes his jab even more effective.

                Pretty much.

Yes theres no point in trying to win a fight against Floyd by outpointing and jabbing him. You have to hurt him in the chin or body area so he cant perform as well as he wants.
Daze him to the chin, and then take the wind out of his sails to the body. That mighht make him forget to jab you.

                      agreed 100%

                      it's like saying

what if Floyd faced ________ he's never really faced a good ______

you could put in a few different aspects and create a debate

in the end Floyd is extremely talented but not infallible

however very few have had much success on Floyd and there is a reason why

haters will say it's because he hasn't faced ________ (insert whatever flavor of the month trait to beat floyd)

fans will say it's because he is impeccable at what he does (even though they cannot quite describe what he does)

the truth is somewhere in the middle of the two
