We're kind of saying the same thing here, just in different ways. Yet, for some reason, I feel like you're trying to disagree with me.
The thing is, Check_Hooks or whatever his name is, can't say:
"Ortiz will win.. just look at the line movement. Mayweather opened at 12-1, and is now at 4-1".
....if he's talking about what's going on at 10 different sports books. Different books have different odds. Lines move different ways at different books, based on the bets coming in. His argument makes such little sense, it gives me a headache.
But none of it is relevant, because Mayweather didn't open at 12-1. And he's not 4-1 now.Comment

1/12 at Paddy power too.
Famous British bookmaker William Hill, one of the largest wagering networks in the world, has published odds on Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s scheduled fight on September 17, against WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz. Despite Mayweather entering the ring with 16-months of inactivity, and Ortiz returning from the biggest win of his career - the bookmaker has listed the former five division champion as a heavy 8-1 favorite to win.
And he was 1/12 back in June when the markets opened.
Guess it was not lie then.Comment

Some bookmakers have slightly shortened the odds on Floyd but not anything significant, you don't get much movement at this stage, still 3 weeks away, but I would expect the odds to shorten on Floyd as we approach September 17th.Comment

You'll have to forgive my ignorance, but, what the fuck is a "paddypower"?
I'm googling sportsbook reviews, and I don't see it mentioned on any of the top sites. SBR, covers, nothing.
You'll have to excuse me if I don't consider them when talking about line shopping.Comment

Scratch that... SBR did review them. In 2010. There's several reports of them rolling people for the bonus' that they offered.Comment
