Boxing at it's best is like bathing in the glory of a fine Picasso or listening to Pavarotti at his peak belting out Nessun Dorma. MMA is like flicking through a 4 year old's primary school scrap book and listening to the Bob The Builder theme tune.

I love boxing but we can't deny the fact that MMA will always be the superior sport because it includes all the martial arts including boxing. I think that MMA fighters will likely win against a boxer like what happen in Couture vs Toney.

big Fedor fan but Anderson Silva is by FAR the most skillful and dominant fighter in MMA's history. Anderson is one of the very few guys I watch other than that a lot of the fights are quite dreadful.

Watch Anderson Silva, Jon Jones fight those dudes are entertaining, skilled fighters. GSP is a great fighter but hes like Mayweather in regards to being defensive and stinking out the joint just to secure a win.

MMA fighters cannot punch on the level of boxers, Dana White even said this. Each generation is getting better and better but they so many parts in their game that they have to master not just striking. Im a fan of combat sports and boxing is by far my favourite, I hated UFC for a while because I didn't want it to takeover Boxing but it can co-exist, everyone knows that theres nothing like a good old boxing fist fight, nothing compares.

I wouldn't say its a superior sport, mma has superior fighters because they know more aspects of fighting. Boxing is still more popular in terms of numbers and ppv sales. Maybe that will change if UFC actually gets the GSP vs Anderson Silva super fight that they are after. I'm sure that will sell big numbers.

As for the guy saying they looked like girls when they kick, I think he must have been looking at some rubbish videos. Those kicks will take your god damn head off or cripple your legs. Watch some Jose Aldo if you don't believe lol

Maybe people just need to ease their way into mma, start off with some K-1, watch some Iron Mike Zambidis lol watch some Muay Thai, maybe some old Pride fights and see how that goes.

Fedor is an all time great, anyone who denies that just don't know what they are talking about. You try going 10 years undefeated in any sport and see how far you get.

After about 5 fights and some submission highlights plus I saw a fight in walkabout I have come to the conclusion that its simply dreadful. I mean I just can’t believe that anyone would even consider that to be better to watch than boxing. The submission are comical the punching technique was a total joke the kicks made the guys look like a bunch of girls (at one point I burst out laughing). People moan about the holding in boxing but it seemed even worse in the MMA fights I watched but I suppose that’s the point.

This is no offence to guys that like MMA but I just don’t see what you see in it, I am unsure why with the long history and tradition of quality boxing in America that the country would even consider dumping it for that trash stuff.
I agree with the comment that it is not worth watching as boxing. Unless it is a standup match it is always boring to watch. However, I believe it is more effective at real fights.

Was it Wladimir or Vitali who has the kickboxing background? I can never remember lol

Which ever one it is he will probably do quite well in mma if he can learn some take down defense.

Yeah it probably is more effective in a real fight. I just thought it looked horrible to watch, I have watch some more and i dont see the fun in it. As soon as they hold on and go to the ground its just bad. I find it comical rather than exciting to watch.

this guy was mostly on K-1 (a lot tolerable than UFC if you're a boxing fan) and he was entertaining as hell... he fought motherfuckin' butterbean.

I found that more funny than exciting, some of those moves are straight out of a comedy film, and all that stuff on the ground is gross to watch.
