With age comes the realization that you can't do the same things you used to in your 20's so his legs aren't going to be as active as they once were but his reflexes are what's more important and unless he's really slipped he'll be fine with his abilities to slide and roll away from oncoming fire coupled with his pinpoint counters that'll keep anyone honest and in check.

Also May knows public opoinion has started to sway away from the hype of the mega-fight and he's going to want to make a serious statement and look to punish Ortiz in an effort to gain as much leverage as he can by bringing a KO of an up and coming young champion as a bargaining chip and put some pressure on Pac to equal or outdo his performance against JMM.

He needs to reaffirm his stance in the boxing world and make this fight in demand again and show the fans he's ready to not just fight but put on a show.

        His legs aren't "gone"

At the same time, he's certainly slowed down. You'd have to be really, really blinded by Floyd love to deny that. Whether that means that he's slowed down enough to be beaten by Ortiz, I don't know. Floyd still has the intelligence factor and I don't think that is ever changing.

For the record, I think that Pacquiao has probably slowed down a bit too - though not as much and overall, he was the better athlete to begin with.

There's a difference between not being able to use your legs, and not wanting/needing to. I just don't buy this theory that his legs are gone, it's true he's been holding his ground more and not using the ring as much, but in his most recent fights that was advantageous to him.

I think Ortiz will test the theory that Mayweather's legs are gone, cause in my opinion Mayweather needs to use the ring and set traps for Ortiz coming in.

At the same time, Mayweather will test Ortiz's chin. Ortiz can be hit and rocked, and one thing about Mayweather, if he can get to you, break you down, and hurt you, then he can and will close the show(unless of course you do something desperate like Judah did.)

By not needing to and not having to use his legs, Floyd conserves energy. If he danced around all night he'd be tired by the 7th rd. Throwing toe to toe with Ortiz is not a smart idea and one that Mayweather will not do, he will counter punch all night and potshot straight rights.

Floyd will finally look old... Remember how old he looked when the fight was first announced?

Ortiz by early Ko, as he is a quick starter. The reflexes won't be all there.
