I disagree. Lowering his hands wont hurt him as bad in the lighter divisions but hes gonna run into a problem the more weight he puts on.

No No and No.. Too short for JWW, and sure there are other short JWW's like Bradley and Judah, but their body frames are a lot bigger than Gamboa's so they can actually hold the weight and stay lean. I doubt Gam can move up that far without putting on unwanted fat and compromising speed, Gamboa does walk around at about 140 150 but If you see him out of training he looks chubby, its mostly fat.. he shouldn't go any higher than 135 imo, but If he plans on moving up to 130 I'd like to see Gamboa-Broner, Broner has been calling Gamboa out lately..

Many fighters carry a low lead & drop there hands. Martinez, Wlad, Froch, Bailey, etc
Gamboa usually does it to draw opponents onto shots. Sure it has it's negatives but it also has many advantages & when you're as fast as Gamboa & have reflexes he does you can usually get away with it.

I have a feeling that Gamboa will drop his hands against De Leon, and Ponce will land one of his crazy keft hands and will lay out Gamboa.

Just a gut feeling, ofcourse logic tells that Gamboa should win conftrably!!

that is a lot of weight he would have to put on though

that would be great if he can do it though, Gamboa would be a BIGGER SUPERSTAR if he was fighting in a division fans actually care about, hardcore fans know that most of the exciting fights come from the smaller guys, but casually fans don't care about anything under 135-140 lbs

I agree that Yuri's top weight might be 135; 140 is pushing it.

There have been a couple of threads about a possible Gamboa-Broner match-up. I would like to see it, but Adrien isn't ready for Yuri. I think Gamboa wins by mid-round KO if they were to meet any time soon.
