I don't think what a boxer looks like has anything to do with his skills or ability...but I will concede that a promoter is more likely to feel his investment in a boxer may be safer if he has "star/celebrity" appeal above and beyond his talents in the ring.

if that's all it takes then why aren't white boxers dominant at heavyweight?

they are more promoted even today than black boxers nevermind back in the 50's-80's.

          I agree to an extent.

Good looking people in general are more marketable and given more opportunities.

That could explain why a very good fighter like Glen Johnson got robbed in a lot of fights and De La Hoya got a few gift decisions.

Gayness at its best. Those threads should be forbidden on a boxing forum.

Read what I said...it takes skills/ability and star power...you refer to this as "that's all it takes" ? well gee that's quite a bit.

And when I say "I don't think what a boxer looks like has anything to do with his skills or ability" I thought it was obvious I was not referring to race.

And FYI...a couple white heavyweight brothers have been dominating the heavyweight scene for the last decade or so...in case you didn't know...and Rocky Marciano is the only person to hold the heavyweight title and go undefeated throughout his career...but that's irrelevant here because I was not even talking race.

That's it...I'm out of here. I have to agree that this is a pretty gay thread.

i never said that's all it takes. did you graduate elementary school yet? i just observed a legitimate trend that goes along with their talent.

once again, you misunderstood my example about the races. dude you're off your rocker. go graduate high school first before trying to debate.

btw the Klits are very good looking.

Good looking=confident=bold enough to hit people in the face or a living (Calzaghe, Ali, De La Hoya, PBF)

                    also

Really ugly=doesn't give a ****=bold enough to hit people in the face for a living (Hatton, Pacquiao, Miadana)

Good looking people generally do better in lifebut personally i dont think that applies too boxing, plenty of great boxers are ugly as hell, maybe they just dont stick in your mind because they lack that charm you mentioned
