I and any smart person would have turned down the fight with Khan based on that contract..And I'm talking about Prescott after he KO'd Khan, meaning maybe he fought a tune up then rematch Prescott..Not 10 fights down the line just start talking about fighting Prescott again...Comment

When Khan got KOed by Prescott he had to correct some flaws in his game. He was a young fighter and to go back in with Prescott or another big puncher could have been career suicide.I and any smart person would have turned down the fight with Khan based on that contract..And I'm talking about Prescott after he KO'd Khan, meaning maybe he fought a tune up then rematch Prescott..Not 10 fights down the line just start talking about fighting Prescott again...
He teamed up with Roach, correct some flaws, shifted weight to his legs, moved up in weight, beat Kotelnik then Malignaggi then took on a much better slugger in Maidana. Got caught but the extra weight conditioning and survival skills, he learned made his survive the round and finished the fight well.
Is Ortiz ducking Maidana?
Did Tyson duck Douglas?
And lets face it, Prescott career has hardly been worthy of a big fight with Khan, if he was still winining and get KOs, it could a fight that will be worth having, but he is not and it is not.
Would Peterson have made more money from Khan than Cayo? Much more but he took a fight he though he could win.
Do you think Peterson would beat Khan?Comment

So far in this thread I have not used the words duck or anything..Just pointing out that I have seen Khan not take some challenges...I agree and I think it was smart not to go right back after the Prescott(I'm also one who say's he does not even have to fight Prescott again)fight..He did have flaws that Prescott would have took advantage of again..Khan is a far better fighter now then he was then..When Khan got KOed by Prescott he had to correct some flaws in his game. He was a young fighter and to go back in with Prescott or another big puncher could have been career suicide.

As for Peterson,I can't agree here..He fought Cayo to get to a belt bro not because he thought Cayo was an easy fight..Khan just so happens to have that belt and Peterson is the mando(meaning he has more nego power then he did when they first sat down to nego)..I would favor Khan to win bro(big reason I really only see Bradley beating Khan)but I would place a bet on Peterson and also believe it would be a good fight..IMO it would be a harder fight for Khan then Maidana was..I'm talking in terms of Khan losing the fight not in terms of him getting KO'd..Peterson is a good fighter and a good fight, anybody who down plays it(imo)is a lil worried that Peterson might have the voodoo for Khan...I for one don't see an easy night of work there..Comment

Well put. Most will never see it like this. You're are missing my point bro. Doesn't matter if Prescott is nothing now. He has called Khan out and Khan won't fight him. So he has ducked that challenge.
As for Maidana stepping aside for a year before they had their fight, well its common knowledge. He was Khans Mandatory. He was paid to step aside for a year or 3 fights, whichever came first and then they were supposed to fight. After the year was up Khan still didn't want the fight and Maidana had to write a letter to the WBA to force Khan to take the fight. Like I said, its common knowledge.
As for Kell Brook not being on Khans level, that also irrelevant. Point is he called him out and Khan doesn't want it.
I'm not saying he won't beat these guys.
Might point is simply this. Don't say you don't duck a challenge when you clearly have.
Its all well and good saying this and that fighter aint on his level so he shouldn't fight them. He aint ducking, they aint on his level. But Khan isn't on Mayweathers level so you can't then call Mayweather a duck if he doesn't want to fight Khan.Comment
