It's because Oscar has denied this for many years, paying off the person to withdraw the images and having "experts" confirm that these were photo shopped.

If he had just gone out and said yeah that was me, I ****ed some hooker, snorted coke and wore her underwear he wouldn't have copped so much flak.

Instead he has tried to maintain a wholesome image of himself, lied with his well scripted responses and manipulation of the entire situation.

I have to admit that I may have chewed on, or even through a few pairs in my day but I really don't recall ever wearing any. And I imagine wearing female undergarments may cause embarrassing moments during the work day, see photo.

Trinidad won 2 of the first 6 rds. Then he changed his tactics and won 5 of the last 6 rounds. These are the facts. The 2 of the 3 judges gave Trinidad all of the last 5 rds and the 3rd judge gave him the last 4.

And they were very accurate. Oscar made up a story later that he was following the instructions of his corner, but I don't think they trained for the 400 metres race in the gym.

How easy do you think it is for a guy in De La Hoya's position to admit those photos were real? He's a multi-millionaire businessman responsible for the livelihood and well-being of many people. He feared for his financial future and his reputation. He feared the impact on his family and the colossal embarrassment. Could you imagine DLH explaining that little incident to his wife? Those pictures were presumably taken before he admitted his infidelities. It was one big nasty can of worms.

Whatever anyone thinks of the pictures or De La Hoya himself, no one can blame Oscar for trying to keep his private life under wraps. People do all kinds of stuff all the time, some far worse than what DLH did, and cover up to protect themselves. Expecting De La Hoya to be any different is naive at best and hypocritical at worst.
