Its called hand-picking opponents to build up your record and make money. Roach is a great trainer and one trait of a great trainer is knowing who to fight and who not to. Why do you think they waited this long to grant poor Marquez a third fight ?

To be honest, I dont really think May Jr. is a ****sexual. He used the word f@ggot in a pretty hateful manner. I was under the impression that Gays were too proud and take offense to the word.

Maybe you can learn to use prepositions in the meantime.

Anyone banking on a drained 140 Ortiz has NEVER boxed or wrestled where

losing weight and drying out or not being able to cut weight appropriately

            ruins your ability.

You can be the best fighter in the world, if you get tired you can not do

            anything.

147 fits Ortiz, 140 did not.

Hey, you never know. There have been worst upsets. If Mayorga can beat Forrest 2x, Ortiz has a chance. I just hope its entertaining.
              agreed completely.

if they were standing toe to toe at a line floyd wins 12 rounds to none.

unfortunately for floyd boxing does not work like that.

ortiz can win rounds immediately with activity while floyd shakes off the rust.

then ortiz can win later rounds with activity while floyd loses his legs a bit.

floyd will have to do the most adjusting being out of the ring for 16 months

and having an EASY fight with shane, easy in the fact that it was not exerting

because shane gassed in three rounds.

ortiz wont gas at all, not at 147 and 24 years old.

floyd has a tough night ahead of him,

Victor Ortiz does not sound confident, at all. In trying to down play his opponent he just sounds arrogant and delusional. And this guy is pretty querky with the way the he expresses himself isn't he? Its almost like he is trying to justify his vitriol by assuming that Mayweather is also trashing him, which in reality he isn't. I don't think that Ortiz is trying to promote the fight with this rookie style, awkward sounding trash talk that he does. It comes off as totally unnatural and contrived coming from him. I think that the obvious is probably the more likely to be accurate conclusion to come to. Which is, like many fighters in the past Ortiz is using his mouth and the media to psyche himself up. Because he is terrified. He would be a lot more relaxed about the way he trash talks if he weren't terrified. All of this jittery internal conflict dialogue being outwardly expressed is clinical fear reaction syndrome. I'm sure he will settle down a bit come fight night. He's just one of those guys that feels like he has to make himself hate his opponent to actually be able to go in there and face him. At least at this point in his career. He does seem pretty novice at trash talking though. "Beautiful mouth". Really Victor? "Floyd who" and "He doesn't belong at welter-weight", come on Vic. Trash talk has to be at least some what based in reality for it to be an effective weapon against your opponent's psyche. So what are you really up to?

PBF will put a beat-down on Ortiz and will stop in in a late middle round.

I still think Mayweather ducked the DeLaHoya rematch; Cotto, Margarito (whether you think he is elite or not) and Pacman, so I don't entirely have his back.

I think Ortiz is a good opponent; so I don't agree with anyone who calls this a cherrypicked farce.

I don't think Mayweather will win easily. If he does win, it will be a decision. Mayweather does not like to lead. Mayweather does not throw a high volume of punches, and he is not the most powerful of punchers. His defense is excellent. He skills elite, but Ortiz is the stronger and the more aggressive fighter. Those 10 years will be a factor, I think. I am looking forward to the fight. And I think Ortiz has a shot. And a much better one than Hatton, or Mosely had.
How can you duck somebody that you already beat easily? De la Hoya was the one who was expecting to fight Floyd on the same contractual terms as when they first fought after losing to him. Margarito and Cotto are both Top Rank fighters and since Bob Arum hates Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Al Haymon he publicly swore that he would never do business with either of them again. (Al Haymon hates Arum just as much as Arum hates him) All of this supposed ducking of Cotto and Margarito occurred after Floyd left Top Rank and after Bob Arum declared that he would never do business with Mayweather again. So how in the world is Floyd ducking two fighters that he never had a chance of negotiating a fight with in the first place?
