    I voted Alex Povetkin.

    Couple of comments

    1) Not a lot happened this month, so there's not a lot to choose from as far as ring achievements go. There weren't a lot of meaningful fights, so the choices for this months fighter of the month are not as great as say, July was.

    2) Agbeko lost his fight. Even though some might feel he was robbed, you MUST recognize the official result which is a loss. Furthermore, although I did feel Russell Mora's refereeing was incompetent and perhaps biased towards the Golden Boy fighter, I still think Mares comfortably won the fight. Even with 1 or 2 point deductions, wouldnt have changed the winner. I felt Mares won the fight, period. There is absolutely no logical grounds to nominate Agbeko over Mares as fighter of the month.

    3) I dont consider myself a fan of Povetkin, I prefer Klitschko's, Boytsov, or Helenius. But Povetkin fought a very good fighter in Chagaev and won a title in the biggest fight of his career. Props for that.

King Kong Agbeko... he beat Mares and is well on his way to becoming a P4P top 10 fighter with wins over Mares, Darchinyan and Perez..

I'll go with Rob Helenius, who showed what crushing power he possesses once again.

Special mention for Sergei Liakhovich in a very brave losing effort -- imagine if Haye had shown that kind of courage, it would have brought out the best in Wlad and made a much better fight!

I'd vote for Alejandro Lopez, but he isn't a choice.

Kind of a slow month but September has more marquee fights with Guerrero-Maidana falling out one of them would of been the frontrunner Helenius is the pick he looks like a possible threat at HW with a good performance but a great KO to vault his stock up again and put himself in the mix for a big fight

Povetkin had a good win as well against a solid fighter and deserves mention but didn't have the same type buzz about it and he already was in the HW top rung

Although IMO Vernon Paris should of been a nominee he had a good win against a decent opponent in a very entertaining fight and also showed he has the makings of a contender in a few more fights if he stays on par with this performance

Honestly the Heavyweight division is looking better with guys like Povetkin and Helinus coming into their own. If Haye would stay it would be pretty stacked.
