I think that Ortiz's foot work is based on his head movement. It's more of a stalker's way of being defensive. Move your head and feet at the same time and go forward. That's why he was pivoting back and moving his head so that in case Mayweather moves side to side he can catch him without taking a risk on a punch he didn't see. In the Berto fight and previous fights he gets caught with a right hand because he throws a left cross by its self. It's not because Ortiz has no head movement because I think he does from what I have seen, but he just starts off with a cross and leaves himself open for that right. You guys need to analyze styles. Ortiz got to the championship level cuz this style has worked for him. He's gonna cut off the ring better than Oscar did against Mayweather...

Don't know what your saying, but he looks light and quick on his feet.

Looks like he's preparing to take it to Mayweather... Just by the way he is shadow boxing you can tell he is gonna go hard at him, and swing for the fences using those quick feet to get inside and cut off the ring.. That's exactly what he needs to do.

It's going to be funny watching him get counter when he lung in with his head low.

                Good points.

But is it possible that Floyd will actually be coming forward? He usually does this against all southpaws, using a high guard, and punishing the body. He even did it against Mosley after that 2nd round.

The thing is Mayweather does go forward against Southpaws cuz he can land the right, but he also moves side to side when he gets intimidated by size like Castillo and Oscar. Yes, Ortiz is a southpaw, but by going forward Ortiz can land a straight left as well and Mayweather can land that straight right. The opportunity cost of that is Mayweather getting hit with a flush powerful left by a human tank. I think early on Mayweather will move side to side and later on he will try to go forward to land that right as the fight goes to the 8th round and so forth. Ortiz being a southpaw makes Ortiz's Jab count for nothing against Mayweather and people don't understand that it's only gonna tap Mayweather's gloves. It's gonna be a match up between Ortiz's right hook and left cross vs Mayweather's left hook and right cross. Mayweather needs to move side to side in order to win this and go forward later on, but Ortiz looks to have the foot speed and stamina to go through that...
