nah man, his best wins are mostly over 40 year olds.

Hopkins 46 (if dawson wins of course).
      Johnson 40
      Tarver 40

Tomasz Adamek would be the lone under 40 guy but I dunno how good Adamek was at LHW, it's a solid win but clearly he's gotten better as he's gone up in weight.

Yes, a win over Bernard Hopkins is huge.

            Dawsons Resume:

            W over Bernard Hopkins

            W over Tarver

            W over Tarver

            W over Johnson

            W over Johnson

            W over Adamek

            W over Harding

Thank you gentlemen for being fair and objective posters. This was my point to the other thread starter. He doesn't get it. Fortunately you guys do.

Probably not, but considering a majority of posters on this forum expects Cotto to get in, the case could be made for Dawson too.

I think most people have an unrealistic view on what merits an entry into the HOF. (and please do not tell me stallone got in)

Just like Cotto, Dawson looks to always fight the best. Those are HOF fighters to me, always looking to fight the best. Why is Sylvester Stallone even in the HOF, he is a joke ass actor.

The only guy who is a lock for the hall on that list is Hopkins and he's 46 at this point. Chads other top wins against Tarver and Johnson were not primed spring chickens either.

He has the talent to be a HOF fighter if he continues beating the best fighters around him, but no way a win over Hopkins locks him in.

If Dawson defeats Hopkins, he's still not HOF worthy yet.

However, if after that he moves up to cruiserweight and becomes Ring champion, and then moves up to heavyweight and defeats a Klitschko, then he belongs in the HOF.
