Nowhere in either link does it say that Abraham requested WADA testing and that Ward declined.....http://translate.google.de/translate...ml&sl=de&tl=en
Sauerland Event has confirmed to BoxingScene.com that the Home Depot Center in California is "one of the sites" being discussed for the Super Six semi-final bout between WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (23-0, 13KOs) and former IBF middleweight champ Arthur Abraham (32-2, 26KOs). The fight is scheduled for May 14.
It was an issue, the testing didn't happen. The fight went on.
Which is surprising that they didn't do testing. When Ward has been so vocal about wanting better testing. But, nobody is questioning him on why is not getting done.Comment

The cost of OST is significant. It's the reason that it isn't blanket accross the Sport.
Floyd wants testing and therefore has to pay for it himself.
Ward has said he'll undego OST, Froch has requested it, so he can pay for it.
Job done!
Fight on!
Everyone's a winnerComment

They mentioned that California didn't have WADA testing and that it was a possible issue, but I see nothing about formal requests made to Ward's camp. Also noted was that Abraham didn't fight under WADA testing for the Dirrell fight in Detroit.Comment

Why would it have been an issue if they didn't request it? Cali is in USA, USADA is under WADA. Sauerland promotions have put it in contract about that they want NADA/WADA testing in their fights. So when you fight under their promoted event like Taylor did and Froch did they have to go through with it. However, the Dirrell wasn't a Sauerland promoted event it was co-promoted as was his fight with Ward. So that falls under negotiations.
He did ask for Dirrell to take a test, granted after the fight.
The Ward fight didn't have the testing. Now why do you think that is?Comment

Would you really expect more from him?
I don't like Mayweather and I think he's wrong for trying to force these tests. I like Froch, but he to is wrong. These things should not be up to individual fighters to call for, but from the boxing commissions and sanctioning organizations.Comment

You could say that and in an ideal world it would be so. But in this case all they care about is money and so far a testing regime is an expense only and dont expect the alphabet boys or the commisions to pick up the bill. Now since the broadcasters apparently is indifferent it's really only the fighters that can demand it. So this looks like the way for progress.Would you really expect more from him?

In cycling you had a public outcry for more testing following several stars fall from grace, and the sport, via it's governing body, implemented a scheme or else there would have been no TV and no income and thereby a certain death.
So Floyd demanding tests and now Froch for very high-profile fights is the way forward. I dont think a strict OST like the expensive one before Floyd-SSM is neccessary, but a threat of random out-of-competition testing ought to be deterrent enough.Comment
He is petrified of Ward, asking for OST. Let the commish do their jobs. Also Froch is bigger than Ward so OST would physically disadvantage Ward.
