Sergei is still a hell of a fighter -- the way he looked tonight he would have destroyed a coward like David Haye.

Povetkin looked soft and out of shape. Atlas was a ****ty ****ing corner, I mean he not only cannot communicate with Povetkin (the translator ****** balls because when Atlas told Povetkin "don't jump with the right hand", the translator said "don't work with the right hand" which mean two different things) but he gave absolutely zero advice to Povetkin, other than talk about non-sensical shiat like "fantasies".

Povetkin has had only a 3 week camp... which explains the soft midsection.
However, he exhibited a great variety of punches, good defense, and good stamina, which won him some later rounds. I had Povetkin winning 6:4... and was not surprised about the scorecards. I like a lot both Chagaev and Povetkin, so I don't think I was biased in scoring. I even wish that they did not fight each other...

I think Povetkin has improved a lot with Teddy Atlas. Perhaps I am wrong, but that's how I see it.

100% agree. The White Wolf fighting the way he did tonight would destroy a snivelling coward like David Gaye.

I wish Sergei did not have that long layoff... Hopefully, his great performance today will give him a chance to shine in another great fight.

I had Povetkin edging it, but Ruslan landed the harder punches and hurt Povetkin a few times. Povetkin didn't hurt Ruslan at all. Chagaev was a bit rusty, his timing was off a little.

He should get nothing but accolades for fighting that well after such a long layoff. I could see him beating a lot of other guys in the division fighting like that.

Povetkin was more off balance, so it might have looked like Chagaev landed harder punches... I think Povetkin did comparable and more consistent damage. Chagaev's cheeks looked bruised up.

His training camp was not three weeks long it was that Atlas was only there to train Povetkin for three weeks during his camp. And Povetkin looked gassed early and didn't look all that great against a chubby Chagaev that looked like crap in his only other in the past fifteen months. With that said I will say that I do agree with Atlas that Povetkin is not ready for Wlad and at this point most likely never will be. And as far as Helenius is concerned, if he could learn to move his head a little better and with a little more fine tuning he may be the real deal.

4 weeks before the fight Teddy did not even suspect that he is going to train Povetkin, and he could not really train him due to contractual obligation with ESPN. Only when at a press conference Povetkin said he has no trainer, Teddy got concerned... and flew over to Russia.
