The nonsense about Frazier having a glass jaw is one of the more shameful episodes of boxing fanboy propaganda.

There'd be a lot more competitive fights for sure, but the main problems with this era, undertrained, overweight fighters fighting once or twice a year or padding their records against stiffs, wouldn't go away just because the Klitschkos did. Povetkin might not have massively pussed out and spent the next two years of his ring career fighting nobodies, and Haye might well have stunk the joint out a few years more, but there aren't too many other examples I can think of of fighters doing better for themselves. It's a convenient excuse to claim that the Klitschkos' dominance is the root of the division's detractors, but there are far deeper problems than that.
As someone who isn't a particular fan of the Klitschkos, I still want them to fight as long as they can because there is no one in sight that can even compare. At least with Wlad and Vitali you have two guys dedicated to the sport who work hard and can represent the division respectfully. All that will be left when they leave is crap.

No, you misunderstand me. I don't want the Klitschkos to retire either, simply because they're quality fighters and emphatic champions. Point is, even were they to go the division would not be significantly better, which you seem to agree with.

Yeah, I was agreeing with what you say, I wasn't trying to imply that you want the Klitschkos to retire. The Klitschkos never being in the division wouldn't make the division better at all.

The Klits are slightly above average Heavyweights in a pitiful and abject era.

I do think highly of Vitali. He has proven himself to be tough, he's more fluid and less predictable than his brother, and has fights where he has left an impression on me. He doesn't have anywhere near the resume to be considered an ATG heavyweight though. Injuries aren't his fault, but it doesn't change that his career has not been good enough to deserve mention as an ATG.

Wlad will be remembered as an ATG, as he's the brother who has dominated the division uninterrupted for a long time, with good wins along the way, but I really don't think much of him as a fighter. Every time I watch him fight I can't help but think what some of the better fighters in history could do that none of Wlad's opponents have any clue how to do.

I think Frazier is overrated aswell, and he would get beat by either brother. But he's WAY better than David Tua, no doubt in my mind. Wlad will break top 10 atg HW, at slot 10 or so, no more.
The division is weak, yes and you can't blame the brothers for that. Too bad, we can then on resume not rank them number 1, cause they aren't tested like in the golden era. They've done their part though, and would be a handful for any HW of any era.
But you can't rank them in top 5, you just can't based on accomplishments. So around 15-9 or something :-)
