So, I was discussing this topic in another thread and decided to touch on it.
People think Tyson's loss to Douglass, excessive partying, and temper is what ruined Tyson. Absolutely not true!
3 things, maybe more, ruined Tyson:
1. The death of Cus D'motto is what ruined Tyson. Even though Cus's death came before Tyson's first championship, we never seen what Tyson was fully capable of. Had Cus been around, Tyson would've KO'd Douglass in the first 30 seconds let alone the first round.
2. Robin Givens. If we're talking about ruining a fighter, she's the trophy case for it. Many people don't know about how Tyson tried to commit suicide by crashing his car in a tree. All this before the Douglass fight. Let's not forget about how she completely embarrassed him on national T.V. Lastly, let's not forget how she took millions of dollars from him with Don King.
3. Prison. Prison finished off what was left in Mike. He came out more of a threat to society than when he when in.
Fact is, Cus was the yin to Tyson's yang. Tyson's problems as a teen were no different than the millions of inner city kids growing up in Brooknam. Yes, Brooknam, not Brooklyn. No need to explain why it's called that.
Anyone?
