No bending over here mister...There are more casual fans then hardcore boxing fans. Sometimes we have to hear what they have to say to see how misguided some of these ppl are. I'm against catchweights, I believe that no one is bigger than the sport, and I believe we should all get along.
Dude, All I said is that you sound like a poet. Take that as a compliment.
I've never met a $5 dollar whore...not even in mexico.
OK, fair call, its just that catch-weights were conceived under the original divisional system because a small welter jumping a division to fight a large middleweight would be outweighed (same day weigh-in, remember) by 15lbs.
We got divisions all over the place now, and 24-hours to rehydrate, so surely a fighter can find a home somewhere without eroding the divisional standards of boxing any further?
LMAO how Pathetic can you be to ask for a fight at 153?It's only psycological for Cotto's team they need to feel as if they have an advantage of some sort.
Margarito is gonna trash Cotto in front of his people.

seriousl doubt tony will "trash cotto in front of his people". imo, theres no way the right side of margaritos face holds up in this fight. the left hooks are gonna do a lot of damage.
so the catchweight demand war real...lose respect for cotto..he obviously doubts himself against tony smh
I agree with you; he best not fight assuming Tony had loaded gloves cuz the same exact fight may happen as the first; I think people overestimate the value of having Steward in his corner; I doubt that will make much of a difference especially if the same relentless pace begins to occur!

yes yes before their was junior anything or super anyting their were just light, welter, middle, ect... Catchweights were acceptable and reasonable back then because of that. I also agree, their is no need for catchweights in todays era ESPECIALLY if it's for a BELT! Find your weight class and obey all their rules.
It's also understandable if a fighter ask for lets say a catchweight at 150 because he's undecided weather he's going to make a run at welter or junior middleweight. But this my friend is not the case. Cotto went to far with this one.
1 pound...1 pound...ridiculous! Hopefully this does not become a trend.
