It all started with the catchweights; Beginning with Miguel Cotto and most recently with Antonio Margarito. In fighting for a welterweight title with a 147 lbs weight limit or a Junior Middleweight title with a 154 lbs weight limit. Both Cotto and Margarito were forced to shave several pounds off their weight limit, just so those fights can happen, to give Pacquiao an unfair advantage in weight draining them both. Those actions seemed not only unfair to the casual boxing fan but also rubbed Floyd Mayweather fans in particuar and boxing fans in general the wrong way. It was perceived by many as simply a cowardly act of gamesmanship on Manny Pacquiao's part, in order to weaken both fighters, since neither fighter were permitted into entering those bouts at full-strength.
In which Pac fights the Mayweathers and Floyd fans started hating Pacquaio?

I always disliked the peasants who follow Manny around.
I liked Manny.
When I started to dislike Manny was when he went to the commission to appeal to get Antonio Margarito's license back.
...all while saying "let the Commission do its job" in refusing improved drug testing.

the Diaz fight
Floyd quit, Pac became p4p #1, and that's where it started
had nothing to do with an actual fight
it was before Pac-Floyd was even in the making
Pac simply being ranked #1 hurt the Floyd****' feelingsComment

It was prolly after Floyd decided to un-retire on the day of the Pac-Hatton fight. Pac KO Hatton in scary fashion. Floyd was denied the P4P #1 spot and starts a vulgar hating campaign against Pac. Pac returns the favor by wishing him well. This made the Mayweathers and their hardcore fans even madder. The rest was history.Comment
