i was at his fight last week. he fought a complete bum. went down after the first real punch he got hit with. i know some of gomez' fam, im hearing his pops has him focused but the lil fame he is gettin has gotten his head a lil swollen. idk, why ortiz choose him in this camp to spar, dude isnt anything like floyd.Comment

Eddie certainly has a lotta potential...he turned pro way too early tho...still in high school...he could have won the Golden Gloves again and tried to compete in the Olympics but that's the past...
I don't know if he really fights like Floyd but he could present some trouble, he has good lateral movement and fast hands (heard he has some pop as well)...
Eddie seems a little big headed or ****y, Ortiz will probably humble him...but it should be good workComment

Ortiz is not an elite fighter, few more fights with elite fighters, to be recgocnized as one. As we all know just you have a belt WBC A.K.A Fraudnello< AKA Jr. does not make you elite... YOu have to earn respect from your peers by fighting the best...Comment

gomez has a bright future and his age makes it better as well. Hopefully he has a long career ahead of him, and this ortiz training camp helps him out a lot. not so sure what it does for ortiz, i don't think any prospect can fully imitate mayweather, but it is what it is, good luck to them.Comment

Hmm... Floyd has former champ Kassim Ouma who has participated in 9 world title fights as his sparring partner - Victor Ortiz is using a boy who has yet to enter his senior year in in high school, with only 6 pro fights. Good luck with that.Comment

Ouma has looked like **** in the professional ring lately tho. He lost 6 of his last 8 fights.Comment

Ouma's problem has always been focus, not lack of skills. Like Floyd, he is a monster in camp, and can go 15 straight without a break. He was up here in Minneapolis for a Ugandan conference a couple of years ago, and he worked with my buddy Mohammed who was a bright WW prospect before drugs and alcohol sidetracked his progress.
I listen to what Mayweather says, and in the Kellerman face-off, Floyd stressed the point that "it's different at this level"... That is a simple, yet extremely important point that I don't think the Ortiz camp understands.Judging by the help Ortiz is using, he's gonna learn that lesson the hard way.
One thing I do know is that Ouma would smash this 18 year-old kid even at this stage of the game... Maybe even Ortiz as well.Comment
